Healthy Banana Snicker Shake Recipe

This quick and easy smoothie finished with our Old Salt Merchants Dark Cocoa Sugar, tastes just like a Snickers bar but the healthy version. You and your kids will love making and devouring this yummy drink.  Packed with lots of protein, this will keep you going for hours.  You can use peanut butter, almond butter, sunflower seed butter or cashew butter.  For a more substantial shake, add protein powder.  You can even add a little whipped coconut cream as a topper and finish with Old Salt Merchants Dark Cocoa Sugar, Cinnamon Sugar or Espresso Bean Sugar.

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 4 tablespoons peanut butter or any nut butter 
  • 2 tablespoons cacao powder
  • Pinch of Old Salt Merchants Bolivian Salt OR Espresso Brava Salt
  • 8 1/2 ounces filtered water 
  • Old Salt Merchants Dark Cocoa Sugar to sprinkle on top
  • Coconut whipped cream to top


  1. Put all the ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until completely smooth 
  2. Pour into two medium-size glass cups and top with coconut whipped cream and our Dark Cocoa sugar
  4. Chill coconut milk or cream in the fridge at least overnight (don't freeze it) We usually always keep a can chilling in the fridge all the time
  5. Scoop out the hardened coconut cream into a mixing bowl and leave any clear liquid behind
  6. Whip with a hand mixer or stand mixer until light peaks form
  7. Option to sweeten with sifted coconut sugar or stevia to taste

Tips / Notes

  • You can even add a 1/2 avocado (stone removed) for an even healthier version
